#37 About 8 months ago my manager of 5 years decided to move on to another position in our company. She was a sweet, caring, relationship oriented person who seemed to instantly know how to uplift people. Throughout the years we worked together, we had a great working relationship together. When she decided to leave, I was sad to see her go and excited to meet my new manager. Due to how I had been showing up, I was asked to interview potential candidates for her replacement and give feedback toward who would be selected.
When her replacement was selected, through what I had learned through my training and mainly my volunteer work after LP, I knew that my new manager would not be like my old. I knew it would take a different focus from me to create the relationship that I wanted with my new manager. He was a results oriented person, willing to say whatever needed to be said to get the job done, even if it ruffled someone's feathers. I knew I was up for the challenge. I went back to the tools I learned in Advanced and LP and after 8 months things could not be better. What previously may have "rocked the boat" with me, I know not to take personally. I was selected as a Team Lead and have been excelling in this new environment. And, if something my manager says sticks, I still can get coaching from someone who is not in the thick of things, someone with the perspective and vision to be with me in a way to have me chose excellence over mediocrity.

#39 I went from 12 years of employment/unemployment as an IT contractor and car salesman to enrolling the owners of a multimillion-dollar company in hiring me for my artistic skills as well as my IT skills; they created a position just for me where I design and administer the corporate website, travel to trade shows, and am part of the creative-solution arm of the company!!! All the things I love to do, and I'm getting paid VERY well for it!

#41 I went from doing everything myself in my practice to creating an awesome team. My business partner (who also completed LP) and I completed a business merger last year, brought on one practitioner (who is in the Advanced right now) who is absolutely fabulous and we are in the process of bringing on another practitioner. By multiplying ourselves we are making a bigger impact for many more people. It's been a wonderful experience to be part of a powerful team where we are authentic, supportive and sweet with each other.

#109 Wow,

The effectiveness at work has increased exponentially!

I wrote a letter to my president, CEO and director and I explained what I had been up against at work and then committed myself to their vision of the company and explained to them what I wanted in my career. I got to tell them exactly how I felt and what I was committed to and it felt great!

They have already approached me about a supervisor position, but I told them that the hours were not what I wanted and I want to be focused on technology, not supervising. They totally understood and I now have a lot of time to work on projects that I choose.

What I also realized is that I have the power to create the workplace environment that I want. My coworkers were playing victims and helpless and I told them that I won't put up with that anymore. Instead of using that energy to complain, we started coming together as a team and playing a winning game. The feeling that I get when I create that space of greatness for my company is connection, team, and most of all fun!

I'm currently in Leadership and it's really about living life as a leader. My director and manager acknowledge how I'm showing up at work since I've been in the trainings, so just the way that I'm being has opened up endless possibilities where I once thought I was "stuck" in my career.

#118 For me, the Journey showed me over and over again that success in the workplace is mostly a matter of ongoing relationship and communication with my coworkers, supervisors, and employees....and that meetings and agendas, by themselves, often obscure rather than clarify, what's necessary to win (win). Everyday, my current team encounters dilemmas, conflicts, nonalignment, etc....but I keep seeing over and over that beneath the words, I need to hear the music, and respond at that level.

The beauty of it all is that recognizing and pursuing commonly conceived goals, with clearly defined roles, and open communication.....is fun! That simply perpetuates the cycle of success and happiness to repeat it, over and over.
