- Fri Jun 15, 2007 8:09 pm #251 I never thought we could accomplish so much in so little time. The first meeting I had with the women of the YWCA was amazing! They enrolled ME in their project; it was a done deal in their minds. All I had to do was ask. From there it just got better. As a team we created a trail connecting their playground to the Raleigh Greenway, in order to promote fitness in the community. We decorated the trail with all sorts of fun stuff: benches, an arbor, bird baths, flowers, and a 6 foot tall CAT! (Like, no kidding!) What was once a drab property that looked like a prison (did I mention the fence we took down) is now an inviting trail for a community to enjoy! And, we had a blast doing it. The neighbors think we're crazy, and some of them were more excited than we were about the project!
