How have you used the WorldLegacy trainings in your life? We want to know.

#45 I completed all three levels of the Legacy Core Curriculum (Basic, Advanced, LP) seven years ago. At that time, I was 24 years old and would have told you that I had solid relationships with my friends and family. We trusted one another and talked/visited regularly, but my experience was that we interacted superficially most of the time. I didn't really know them at an intimate level, and they didn't really know me. At the time I took the training, I had also just completed my 2nd year of teaching middle school. I was pretty successful in my career. I was being asked to speak at national conventions and was nominated for an outstanding young teacher award. There were so many ideas I had to put our school "on the map" as a place of true excellence, but I wasn't being the kind of leader to get my ideas in place or sustain whatever I did start.

Since taking the trainings and using them in my life daily, I have accomplished the following:

*Authentic, connected, and FUN relationships with my parents, my grandparents, my brothers, and my extended family. We can talk about anything, and I feel like I really know them and they really know me vs. knowing only about what one another does. We also support one another in having EXTRAORDINARY things in our lives, vs. just settling.

*Creating an unprecedented job that I am passionate about: Two years ago, I became a director of transformation and professional growth in the school where I had been teaching for eight years. This is a job that my principal and I invented out of our school's commitment to real transformation and my passion for leadership development. Every day, I have the opportunity to work with our administrators, teachers, and students on developing themselves as leaders who accomplish intended results and empower others. Over the last couple of years, our school has been recognized as one of 5 Promising Schools in NC, and we are on our way to becoming a National School to Watch! For the last two years, our students have performed the highest on state assessments in our 29 year history.

*In 2002, I was awarded a Terry Sanford Award for Creativity & Innovation in Teaching & Administration, one of the highest educator recogitions in NC. The most meaningful thing to me about receiving this was that it symbolized that I was making a difference in my profession...something that I came to the trainings to do.

*I live every day using the tools I gained from the trainings to experience freedom, vision, and passion in every domain of my life.
