Rebuilding New Orleans, New Orleans, LA: Over the Thanksgiving weekend, 35 people traveled by car, van or plane from various cities in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and California to make a difference for people in New Orleans. They worked to get a 103-year-old woman, Rose, back into the home her husband built many decades ago. They worked to get her 70-year-old next door neighbor back into her home as well. They created a storage shed for a woman to store the flood-damaged belongings of her recently deceased mother. They moved a family into their new home. They painted exteriors and interiors of homes, built a storage shed, and basically did whatever was wanted and needed. November 2007. NC83 Senior LP Project.
