- Sun Mar 27, 2011 10:33 pm #352 So my friends Justin and Joe and I all entered into a contest as a team competing against five or six other teams in an Art and Design competition. We pitched 2 concepts to Enterprise Properties who would later select the winner to have their art printed on 15 majestic 60 feet tall banners to be hung on the sides of the L building parking deck in downtown Raleigh, near the convention center. plus the winning team receives 2500 dollars to split amongst them.

We were all a little blown away to find out, WE TOTALLY WON! Our art will span two sides of a building and be six stories tall in the middle of downtown!
I'll give more details about when it will go up as soon as I'm in the know.


What has been really spectacular about the whole experience is that I went in with a "done deal" attitude, and enrolled Joe and Justin in it straight from the start. we were the winners before we even started! Plus, I don't think I would have even competed in the past. I've had a lot of opportunities to compete in art and design competitions and have rarely taken them (usually only when pressed to) This one seemed like quite a bit of work to do if we didn't win. We went for it anyway and I'm so thankful and proud we all took the risk. Joe also shared with me about his thoughts on the day we were pitching our ideas. He had walked around to see everyone else's ideas, and said he remembered thinking "Man, everyone's done some really great work, it's too bad they're not gonna win."

It's spectacular, really!
