#463 WorldLegacy Teen Leadership Transforms Families

The WorldLegacy Teen Leadership Program is the most amazing opportunity for teenagers to discover new things about themselves, decide how they want to show up in the world, improve their relationships with family, friends, and teachers, and achieve unprecedented results in all areas of their life. I’ve seen some downright amazing things happen as a result of this program, which is why I have volunteered many hours over the last few years. This WorldLegacy Teen Leadership training makes a larger impact on the lives of teenagers than any other camp/program I have ever known about.

What Teen Leadership is about:
Imagine being a teenager armed with the distinctions of integrity, choice, contribution, vision, and responsibility. Figure out the big life questions: Who am I? Where do I fit in? What do I want? and How do I get it?
After completing Teen Leadership teens report many or all of the following:
• Self-confidence
• Ability to rise above peer pressure
• Living from personal responsibility
• Clarity on goals, commitments, and choices
• Higher grades
• Happiness and gratitude
• Learning how to deal with stress and the expectations of teachers and parents
• Communicating more openly and honestly with family and friends

What greater gift can we give our children than the confidence to make decisions themselves and to allow them the ability to see it is up to them to determine what happens in their lives. From a parent’s perspective, I see a determined, driven 20 year old daughter departing to study abroad in New Zealand for 6 months because of Teen Leadership. At the age of 16, she walked in the door of The WorldLegacy Teen Leadership and chose a different path for herself. She graduated high school a semester early and then chose to do the National Outdoor Leadership School and live out west for 3 months. Now a rising Junior at Appalachian University, her next venture New Zealand. Whatever she wants to do, my daughter is determined to make it happen, and she does. I am fortunate this program is here for all teens and their families. I wish it had been there for me. This was the best gift I could ever given my daughter!

Man where to begin. TL has been a blessing for me I realized so much about myself and I just saw myself growing into myself. Ya know at TL we talked about masks and I realized that over the years I let myself put on several masks to hide who the real me was but when I searched and found myself I realized that I AM A STRONG CHRISTIAN … an ATHLETIC RESPONSIBLE PERSON. I accepted myself and I don’t have to worry about what others think or say about me. I am Accepted, I am A Leader, I am Kahleel Smith ! See more at the Teen Site.

TL made me see the better person I can Be if I just believe in myself and the people around me.
It also helped me to see that I can help other people other than practice self pity.
I will always and forever Remember and be TL!
